Sign & Printing FAQs
1. What resolution is required for large format color printing?
For large format products such as banners, posters, signs, and vehicle wraps, your file should be created at 100–125 DPI at
full size.
This resolution is sufficient for high-quality output when viewed from a distance. Using a lower resolution may result in pixelation, while
unnecessarily higher resolutions will only increase file size without improving print quality.
2. What resolution is required for small format color printing?
For items like business cards, postcards, flyers, and brochures, we recommend designing your files at 300 DPI at full size.
Since these pieces are viewed up close, this higher resolution ensures sharp text and crisp images. Files below 300 DPI may appear blurry or
pixelated when printed.
3. What file formats are best for uploading print-ready artwork?
We recommend uploading files in PDF, EPS, or AI formats with all fonts outlined and images embedded. Small Format art files should be
300 DPI at full size, while Large Format only requires 150 DPI.
4. What are crop marks and bleeds, and why are they required for printing?
Crop marks are lines placed at the corners of your artwork that show the printer where to trim the final piece. Bleeds are
the extra space (usually 1/8") beyond the trim area where background colors or images extend. Including both ensures that there are no
unwanted white edges after trimming and that your final product has clean, professional edges. These are especially important for full-color
designs that go all the way to the edge of the paper or sign.
5. How do I care for my vehicle wrap to ensure it lasts?
To extend the life of your vehicle wrap, hand wash your vehicle with a gentle, non-abrasive detergent and avoid high-pressure washing. Park
in shaded areas when possible to prevent sun damage, and avoid harsh chemicals or ice scrapers on wrapped surfaces.
6. Can I get a proof before you print my sign or business card?
Yes! We provide digital proofs for all custom orders so you can review layout, colors, and content before we proceed with printing. This
ensures accuracy and satisfaction.
7. What is the difference between a banner and a poster sign?
Banners are made of durable vinyl and designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Poster signs are printed on rigid PVC board and are better
suited for displays that need structure, especially outdoors.
8. Do I need bleeds and safe zones when designing business cards?
Yes. Please include a 1/8" bleed on all sides and keep important content (like text and logos) within a 1/8" safe zone inside the trim line
to avoid cutting issues. Crop marks should also be included—they show where the card should be trimmed and ensure
accurate cutting during the production process.
9. Are your signs weatherproof?
Many of our signs are weather-resistant. For outdoor durability, we recommend materials like aluminum, corrugated plastic, and vinyl. Let us
know where the sign will be used, and we’ll recommend the best material.
10. How long does it take to install a vehicle wrap?
Full vehicle wraps typically take 1–3 days, depending on the size and complexity of the vehicle. We’ll schedule a consultation to inspect
your vehicle and provide a timeline.
11. Can you match colors exactly from my logo or brand guide?
We do our best to match brand colors using CMYK values or Pantone references. If exact color matching is critical, let us know ahead of time
and we can provide a printed proof for approval.
12. What is the difference between window clings and decals?
Window clings adhere through static and can be removed and reused. Decals use adhesive backing for a stronger, more permanent bond. We offer
both options depending on your needs.
